Genito-Urinary Tract Tumors:
An Update in the Era of Personalized Therapy
Focus on emerging topics in bladder, ovary, and testis

which will be held in Florence, Italy, on May 11-12, 2017

The rationale of this meeting is based on some goals:

  • acquiring an update on molecular genomic advances in bladder cancer that are reshaping our approach to early detection, prognostication, and taylored therapy;
  • discussing the taxonomy of basal versus luminal genotype/phenotype and the immunotherapy promise in bladder carcinoma;
  • understanding the heterogeneity, the pathologic basis and the molecular features of ovarian tumors to classify them appropriatelly;
  • acquiring the main clues of the most common type of ovarian cancer, including those associated with prognosis, prediction of response to platinum based therapy or immunotherapy for individualizing managements of the patients;
  • increasing knowledge on 2016 WHO news in testis pathology in regard to the understanding, the classification, the immunohistochemistry and molecular data which are key points for the selection of the therapy.

This year Bosnia and Herzegovina is going to host „31th Adriatic Society of Patology Internatonal Meeting“ in organisation of BiH Pathology and Cytology Society (UPCFBIH), that will be held on 30. June – 01. July 2017 in Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Our vision
Primary goal that Adriatic Society of Patology wants to accomplish is to ensure opportunity for young pathologist, and also for experienced colleagues, to meet and to share knowledge and experiences between themselves. During this two-day meeting pathologist from all the countries can take interactive role in several fields and topics from pathology, and both learn and pass on their knowledge. We are sure that in variety of topics there would be something interesting for everyone!

Official language of the „31th Adriatic Society of Pathology International Meeting“ is English.
As a tradition, Adriatic Society of Pathology will be ensuring all the registration fees, so for all the participants registration is totaly free of charge!

This course is created for younger pathologists and the ones in need of refreshing their knowledge. During a three-day course (December 1-3, 2016) participants will have opportunity to listen to lectures and to take active part in discussions and slide seminars. Stress will be on the soft tissue tumours and their differential diagnosis. It is designed for improvement and standardization of diagnostic abilities of participants.

The course is organized by the Institute of Pathology, University of Zagreb School of Medicine and Ljudevit Jurak University Department of Pathology, Sestre Milosrdnice University Hospital Center, and led by highly recognized European pathology experts.

EScoP Breast course 2016 – Budapest, Hungary

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of EScoP Budapest 2016,

The EScoP Breast course this year will be held in Budapest, 2-4 June 2016.

The course will cover all aspects of breast pathology. Special emphasis
will be given to the role and tasks of the pathologist in the
multidisciplinary environment of screening centres. Pre- and postoperative
diagnostics and differential diagnostic issues of breast lesions will be
discussed. The importance and quality issues of prognostic and predictive
factors will also be presented.

The speakers – as usual – are internationally acknowledged specialist
breast pathologists: Prof. Vincenzo Eusebi, director of the course, Prof.
Tibor Tot, Prof. Anna Sapino, Prof. Maria-Pia Foschini, and the local
organizers, Prof. GĂĄbor Cserni and Prof. Janina Kulka. Prof. Ricardo
Masetti, breast surgeon is also among the speakers and it is an honour for
us to have him in the Faculty.

The case presenters will use digital slides and each participant will have
the opportunity to use digital equipment for slide viewing and manipulation.

Target audience: primarily pathology trainees and young pathologists, but
experienced general surgical pathologists who would like to brush-up their
knowledge about breast pathology are also welcome. Lectures of the course
are open for trainee surgeons interested in breast surgery.

The venue is the new building of the Semmelweis University, providing a
convenient and well equipped lecture hall and spacious areas for the
breaks, where coffee and lunch will be served.

During the evenings, appealing social programs are planned: the first
evening in the lively inner city of Budapest and the second evening in a
hunting house in the Buda hills.

Održana izvanredna Skupština Hrvatskoga liječničkog zbora

Zbog zakonske obaveze donošenja financijskog plana za iduću godinu i izmjene Statuta Hrvatskoga liječničkog zbora, predsjednik HLZ-a prof. dr. sc. Željko Krznarić sazvao je izvanrednu Skupštinu 22. prosinca 2015. godine. Izvanrednoj skupštini prisustvovali su mnogi uvaženi gosti i kolege, predsjednik Hrvatske komore dentalne medicine mr. sc. Hrvoje Pezo, predsjednik Hrvatske liječničke komore Trpimir Goluža, predsjednica Akademije medicinskih znanosti Hrvatske prof. dr. sc. Jasna Lipozenčić, pročelnica ureda za zdravstvo Grada Zagreba i predsjednica Hrvatskoga dermatološkog društva prof. dr. sc. Mirna Šitum koji su uputili prigodne čestitke svima nazočnima povodom nadolazećih blagdana. Nakon uvodnih riječi i čestitki, izabrano je radno predsjedništvo te su predstavljeni prijedlog financijskog plana za 2016. godinu te prijedlozi izmjene Statuta. Prijedlog financijskog plana jednoglasno je prihvaćen, a prijedlozi izmjene statuta nakon kraće rasprave također su prihvaćeni. Nakon izvršenih obaveza, neformalno druženje nastavilo se na prigodnom božićnom domjenku u Klubu Hrvatskoga liječničkog zbora.
